My model is a AWOD AS147 and the fault code is F07 – “Triac short circuit detection” according to the above, but I’m not sure that’s what the issue is.
The motor and the pump are going, but the drum isn’t turning. When I turn the drum by hand it makes a disagreeable noise, like something has broken within the mechanism that controls the drum spin.
Check the carbon brushes and the commutator plates on the armature this could be making the noise and the circuit fault.
Let me know how you get on…

The first thing I’d check is the carbon brushes and the armature on the motor to make sure everything is fine there.

I have the same code, F13, on a whirlpool AWO D5716. When I turned the control dial to OFF and then back on again the power wouldn’t come on – no lights etc. and door wouldn’t open.
After a couple of minutes the door unlocked and now the power is back on and everything seems fine. Ran a ‘rinse and spin’ cycle and it stopped with the same code.
Now when the door releases power doesn’t come back on.
Any help appreciated.

I have an AWM 1000 which comes up with an F10 code constantly and will not move from one cycle to the next. Any suggestions most welcome. Apparently this code is the ‘Motor Control Unit (Thermal)’. What does that mean?

We have the fabric sense system, whirlpool washing machine and just all of a sudden it stopped spinning. It makes the sound and goes through the whole cycle, the water drains completely but after that it will not spin but it goes to the end of the cycle and cuts off. My clothes are completely and with the spin process they are almost dry. Should I look into a repair or is the machine just done. We have had it for 3 & 1/2 years. Thanks, Mrs. Cooper 6/4/2011

I have heard a noise from my machine for a little while and now I have a fault F6 come up on the machine, the clothes start with the correct wash but then stops and I can’t open the door !! I have tried draining and spinning to get the clothes out but they are obviously soaking wet. HELP boys home from UNI with loads of washing !!!
AWM337 Whirlpool Inspirations, approx 11 years old, perfect working order until last week. Wash programme completes but then after the spin cycle the water does not empty from the drum and it cuts out completely, just goes silent. Any ideas ?
i have a mod.#WTW6600SWI. We use the sheet cycle the most. inconsistently i get F1 code. noticed on a time when i did not get the code, but was looking for it i could here the pump but no water. as you know the sheet cycle is the only cycle to fill the drum. and yet this particular time i got no fault.
We have an AWM6141 and we are getting the FH error code. This usually comes on at around 6 minutes into a 30 minute wash. The drum has water in it and when the error occurs, the pump kicks in and drains the water. I have checked all connections and cleaned out hoses…still no luck.
Any ideas?

Whirlpool Model AWO/R5406
Approx 2 years old . It will do a full cycle on any set temperature but will not just spi, or rinse and spin. It just keeps sounding as if its going to start but doesn’t.I have had this problem before and when I phoned whirlpool they said it was Code 4. To rectify , un plug, open door and depress the start button for 60 secs . It has not cured the problem this time. Anybody had the same problem ?
